Alexander Isak's mind is made up! Liverpool target tells Newcastle's Saudi owners he still wants to leave during face-to-face talks at striker's house

Alexander Isak has told Newcastle that he is determined to move to Liverpool this summer in a fresh round of face-to-face talks with the club's board.

Per the Telegraph Newcastle sent a delegation to Isak’s home, including co-owner Jamie Reuben, but they were unable to convince the international to return to training in the north-east. He wants to move to Liverpool, and has made that clear, but Newcastle are adamant that they are yet to receive a bid that matches their valuation.

The Reds have tabled a bid worth £110 million ($148m) but Newcastle rejected it outright, as they hold out for £150m ($202m). Liverpool have no desire to match that figure, and the Magpies have no desire to encourage an offer. Isak, though, wants the move and has continually refused to play for the club; he is almost certain to miss the club’s clash with this weekend.

There are only six days remaining in this transfer window and Newcastle maintain they will not sell, given they would likely have to buy two strikers to replace the Swede, given they do not currently have a recognised centre-forward. They want to sign Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen and are interested in Brentford‘s Yoane Wissa.

Newcastle play Leeds this weekend and will almost certainly do so without Isak. It is unclear if Liverpool will be able to convince the Magpies to drop their asking price; as it stands, negotiations appear to be at deadlock.
