- Jackson on cusp of Chelsea salida
- Path blocked by Joao Pedro and Liam Delap
- Bayern linked with loan move
Jackson has been linked with a Chelsea exit throughout the summer, with manager Enzo Maresca looking to the future after bringing in new forwards in Pedro and Delap. The Senegal international has been the Blues’ starting striker for the past two seasons but now looks set for a fresh start away from Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea’s high asking price has put off a number of rumoured suitors during the window, but Bayern are thought to have agreed personal terms with the 24-year-old. The Bundesliga champions favour a loan move, but Jackson’s agent has now revealed there are supposedly a number of different options for his client to choose from.
Diomansy Kamara, Jackson’s agent, said in a statement: “30 goals in two seasons, without a single penalty. Highs, lows…but a page is turning at the Blues. Always grateful for yesterday, but already looking toward tomorrow, with optimism. Alemania, Italia, Inglaterra: the options are numerous, the decision is imminent. Thank you for the support, we see your messages…Nicolas Jackson, transfer expected within 48 hours.”
Jackson’s 30 goals have come in 81 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, but the west Londoners are hoping for more consistent returns from the likes of Pedro and Delap after forking out hefty transfer sums during the summer window. Pedro in particular has started well, scoring once and supplying two assists in Friday night’s 5-1 thumping of West Ham, while Delap scored his first competitive goal for his new club during the Club Copa del Mundo.
While Jackson looks set to move on imminently, Chelsea’s focus is on the upcoming clash with Fulham on Saturday. They’re also looking to ditch a couple of unwanted players, with defender Axel Disasi closing in on a loan move to Bournemouth.
